Speaking of Mining Deals, This is a Big One.
Although people have been digging for gold for thousands of years, in fact there are certain cultural creation myths that say humans were created to mine gold for the gods… BUT, the mining industry as we know it today is really only a couple generations old, and traces much of its history here in my little town of Vancouver, Canada.
The Lundin family is an iconic name in mining with at least 3 generations of history starting with Adolf Lundin, a Swedish oil and mining entrepreneur who established numerous natural resource ventues headquartered in Vancouver Canada. His sons grew the family business into a $10 billion market cap lead by Lucas Lundin. Lucas made the family famous, or infamous depending on who you read, for their work ethic, play ethic and their ability to ‘go places other people are not willing to go.” Lucas passed away in 2022, and passed the torch to his son Jack who took the helm in Dec 2023.
Jack has wasted no time, putting together a headline snatching joint venture deal with mining giant BMP to develop a massive Copper-Gold-Silver deposit in South America. Yes, the big 3. Yes, we are very interested in this project for its size and multi metallic deposit. We are very interested to dialogue with Jack about his intentions and for the environmental and social implications of this massive opportunity.
